the number 6

less than 6 weeks left. excuse me while i process this (*dry heaving*). it's very exciting and also a little scary , but i am looking forward to it! There's the obvious thing- meeting our little guy- and then the other little things i previously took for granted that i look forward to becoming reacquainted with:

  • afrin: i forgot what it was like not to be congested
  • steroid nasal spray: see above.
  • retin-a: can this be purchased by the bucket?
  • clothing that isn't black or grey: yes, i've been a cheap beyatch and didn't buy many maternity clothes, so i've been wearing what has become a uniform- black leggings, black or grey t-shirts/tunics.
  • sleeping flat on my back: yesssss.
  • running: it's been a long time--6 weeks?7 weeks? i'm looking forward to my first trail run post-baby and, of course, to pushing him along in a jogging stroller.
  • fitting copious amounts of food in my stomach again: not much room in there now. very disappointing how little i was able to eat over the holidays.
silly things aside, there really are so many things to look forward to. i can't believe there will be a little person joining us soon. will he look like his profile in the ultrasound? will he have a gigantic head like me? the only thing that really matters is that he is healthy. and that he'll grow up to be a nice person. and funny. and happy.

as far as nesting goes, we have most of the essentials: crib, rocking chair, dirty diaper containment system, stroller, enough onesies and footed sleepers for a village of babies (must...stop...buying...onesies), cute little stuffed animals and rattles which he will have no interest in for months. also bought little baby leg warmers. i can't wait to see these on his fat little legs.

6 weeks is so close! I would also be dry heaving. Forunately, I have double that so can postpone my dry heaves until mid-February! :)

So exciting, though! (It's hard to not buy onesies, isn't it? They are so stinking cute.)

We don't have a lot of baby stuff yet, although I have a list of stuff I'm planning on getting if you want to peruse for your own reference. If you want to share your stuff back, that'd be great. I'm nervous I'll forget something vital (although I think carseat, diapers, and a sleeping place are the only TRUE necessities, especially since I have 1,000,000 tiny outfits already!)

So - our registry link which I'm using as a resource currently: http://www.amazon.com/registry/baby/1N4BPAI098YEL

I can't wait to see pics of your little one! Good luck with the next 6 weeks!
